COME WHEN CALLED WORKSHOP
Join us for practice dedicated to this important safety behavior: recall
Have you been meaning to work on your recall? Whether you’re beginning, haven’t yet started, or need a tune up, this workshop is a fun way to start building fast, happy recalls. Prerequisites: Dogs must be able to take food in new environments and work within 10ft of other dogs and people without excessive barking.
We’ll cover:
how to start
poisoned cues
next steps
management
What to bring:
-You will need to bring your dog’s favorite toys, the best treats they’ve ever had (or never had), your fast feet, and a joyful demeanor.
-Your dog! Preferably hungry and having been given a potty break prior to class.
-flat buckle collar or body harness. Please no prong collars or slip/choke collars.
-6 to 10 foot nylon leash. A long line if you have one. Please no flexi/retractable leashes.
-treat pouch. A fanny pack, climber’s chalk bag, or hardware apron will work well too!
-treats! At least 2 cups of tiny, pea-sized delicious treats. Your treats need to be more exciting than the environment, so hot dogs, ham, and cheese all work well. PLEASE USE NON-CRUMBLY TREATS. Dropped treats are very distracting for dogs training after you.
